TelaPoint, an Internet supply chain software provider for the convenience store and petroleum industry, announced Wednesday, Feb. 20, that BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. has selected its TelaFuel Internet software suite of products — including Smart Replenishment, Smart Buying and Smart Invoicing — to streamline and manage its fuel operations. BJ’s currently operates 176 Clubs and 100 gas stations in 16 Eastern states.

BJ’s plans to utilize TelaFuel, a browser-based application suite, to improve management of fuel purchasing, replenishment and inventory reconciliation across its chain of 100 Club locations with gas stations. With TelaFuel, BJ’s Wholesale Club hopes to realize significant benefits, including the ability to lower fuel procurement costs, optimize fuel inventory and transportation operations, and streamline supplier invoice reconciliation expenses.

“We are aggressively pursuing our goal to maximize fuel replenishment efficiency utilizing TelaPoint’s supply chain solution,” says Scott Margherio, vice president and manager of fuel and automotive operations for BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc., based in Natick, Mass. “We expect that TelaFuel will help us save time and money in our fuel supply process and enable us to automate much of our fuel replenishment and inventory reconciliation processes.”

“TelaPoint is proud to be a technology provider to BJ’s Wholesale Club Incorporated and is committed to assisting BJ’s in achieving their retail petroleum objectives, ensuring they remain an industry leader,” says Mike Dahlem, president of Louisville, Ky.-based TelaPoint, a subsidiary of Wright Express Corp. “Large regional companies such as BJ’s clearly recognize the enormous potential to increase business process efficiencies, trim costs and to develop and enhance relationships with new and existing trading partners.”
