J.B. Hunt chairman sells 1 million shares of company stock

Wayne Garrison, chairman of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell, Ark., sold more than 1 million shares of the company’s common stock last week, ArkansasBusiness.com reported Monday, Feb. 25.

According to a Securities & Exchange Commission Form 4 filed Friday, Feb. 22, Garrison sold the 1,002,591 shares on Feb. 20 for $28.25 apiece, value at $28.3 million.

Garrison still owns 6,337,028 shares of the company directly, plus another 17,440 shares in his 401(k) plan and 12,000 shares indirectly through his wife/daughter, the filing said.

Hunt stock closed at $28.99 on Monday, putting Garrison’s remaining holdings in the state’s largest trucking company at about $182 million.
