The Arizona Trucking Association announced Thursday, March 6, that it has partnered with CDTA to offer ATA members quality, streamlined substance abuse testing and background screening programs at a reduced cost.

CDTA, a California-based company, specializes in cost-effective corporate drug and alcohol testing programs, background screening and DOT solutions serving the transportation and related industries. The company offers experienced and knowledgeable personnel who can tailor programs to best fit the needs of ATA member companies, typically at a savings of 20 percent or more over most companies’ current rates.

“Each year, ATA’s board of directors focuses on bringing cost-effective exclusive benefits to association members and their companies,” says Karen Rasmussen, ATA president and chief executive officer. “We looked at a number of different programs and carefully considered each one’s merits before choosing CDTA, and we’re pleased to announce this exclusive endorsement.”

Aside from federal regulatory requirements, escalating insurance costs and the potential for costly lawsuits make substance abuse testing and thorough background checks essential for the transportation industry. Many trucking companies lack the human resources and legal departments to develop and implement fully compliant testing and screening programs, Rasmussen says.

“We are pleased to join the ATA as a partner,” says Henry Gami
