A free instructional DVD that demonstrates collision repair techniques for heavy-duty trucks using the Pliogrip by Valvoline body repair system now is available. The DVD from Ashland Specialty Polymers & Adhesives — a business group of Ashland Performance Materials, a division of Ashland Inc. — shows industry professionals methods of bonding and repair for various types of plastics and composites found on truck hoods, bumpers, fairings and roofs.

“Our mission with this DVD is to provide truck body repair technicians a visual training tool that shows how to distinguish and repair various types of plastics appearing on Class 8 trucks, and to demonstrate a faster, more reliable repair system,” says Jeffrey Miller, senior technical service representative for Dublin, Ohio-based Ashland Specialty Polymers & Adhesives.

Pliogrip by Valvoline products are engineered for a variety of applications in the body shop, with techniques used to repair Metton composites that are different from those used with other plastic repair jobs, according to the company. To obtain a free copy of the DVD, or for more information, call 800-PLIOGRIP or go to www.pliogripbyvalvoline.com.
