An International 4300 medium-duty commercial truck joined the Kentucky Harvest team to pick up and deliver food to those who are hungry throughout Metro Louisville and the surrounding areas. Navistar International Corp. presented the donated vehicle to Kentucky Harvest founder Stan Curtis at a press conference Friday, March 14.

“We are pleased to know that one of our medium-duty trucks will be going to ultimately assist those in need,” says David Johanneson, Navistar executive vice president of sales, marketing and distribution. “We are proud to support the Kentucky Harvest and the people of Kentucky.”

The International 4300 Low Profile truck features a lower platform designed for improved driver entry and egress, as well as easier access to cargo. It is equipped with an International DT466 engine and a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission. The truck maintains a 14-foot clearance and 25,500-pound gross vehicle weight.

“It’s all about the food,” Curtis said. “Through the generosity of Navistar, the staff and volunteers of Kentucky Harvest will be more efficient at picking up food that might otherwise go to waste and feeding hungry people in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”
