The California Air Resources Board is accepting funding requests from companies seeking to retrofit or replace their trucks to reduce emissions. Limited opportunities also exist to deploy technologies that reduce idling as well as emissions from refrigeration units. Applications must be submitted to CARB by April 11.

Under CARB’s 2008 Multi-district Project Solicitation, $8.6 million is available for projects that will travel across more than one of the state’s local air districts and accumulate at least 75 percent of miles (or fuel consumption) within California during the project life. A minimum project life of three years is required with each project being evaluated primarily on the amount of emissions reduced per dollar spent. Projects must not be required by any federal, state or local regulation.
