Caterpillar Inc. announced that Bill Fulton has been appointed marketing manager for Global On-Highway, replacing Steve Brown, whose retirement was announced earlier. Fulton will be returning from his current assignment as manager of the Global On-Highway Group for the Asia/Pacific Division of Caterpillar, based in Melbourne, Australia.

In his new role as marketing manager, Fulton is responsible for all aspects of marketing, from product specification and merchandising programs to advertising and public communications.

“With many years of marketing experience and a strong background with Caterpillar, Bill brings considerable expertise and a strong customer and market focus to Cat On-Highway Engine marketing efforts,” says George Taylor, director and general manager for Global On-Highway, Large Power Systems Division.

Fulton has played an invaluable role in reinforcing the market leadership position of Caterpillar in Australia and New Zealand over the last two years and integrated himself into the Australian trucking scene in a short time. He led the launch of engines with Acert Technology in Australia, played a part in the launch of Acert Technology to the specialty markets in the United States, and was involved in the development and launch of the Cat On-Highway Automatic Transmission program. Fulton began his career at Caterpillar in the on-highway engine business, playing a key role in the successful marketing of the C-10 and C-12 engine models. Fulton also has spent time in field sales and service roles in Seattle and Denver.
