At the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., Grote Industries touted its new series of technologically advanced LED-based lighting products for heavy-duty trucks.

Grote representatives said the company has taken major steps in automation production and has developed new product lines, including the Super Nova and the Single Diode lightning applications that can be installed in old and new vehicles.

Grote Chief Executive Officer Eric Morris showed several new lighting devices, mostly marker and stop lights, and the company’s most advanced product line, the front LED WhiteLight technology featuring high-output LEDs.

Also, the company announced partnerships with truck manufacturers to provide brighter interior LED lighting with lower power consumption and longer duration than traditional incandescent lights. Grote also continues to be a major provider of trailer interior lights, side signal and stop lights; in today’s market, 60 percent to 70 percent of all trailers use LED lighting, the company said.

There is still a price gap between LEDs and incandescent lights, Morris said. “We are narrowing the difference every day,” he said.
