Roadrunner Dawes Freight Systems — a less-than-truckload carrier based in Milwaukee with 18 terminals nationwide — recently hired Gabe Martinez as its Southern California linehaul manager. The company also recently hired Dean Barr as Seattle terminal manager.
Martinez’s responsibilities include negotiating and recruiting linehaul power. Based in Los Angeles, Martinez is a 12-year veteran of the transportation industry, with previous experience as linehaul manager for USF Reddaway Trucking and operating supervisor at YRC Worldwide. Roadrunner Dawes says this newly created position is a direct result of its rapid growth.
Barr, responsible for ensuring profitability and the overall strategic direction of the Seattle terminal, is an 18-year veteran of the transportation industry, including previous experience at Central Freight Lines as regional manager of the Pacific Northwest. He also has held various positions at Velocity Express and UPS Logistics Corp. Barr also served six years in the U.S. Navy.
