SCI Distribution (www.sciww.com) has launched of WebFleetLog, a Web-based fuel and fleet management application that allows fleet managers to monitor fuel usage, track vehicle locations, and view dozens of categories of vehicle and driver performance data in real-time from any Web-connected computer or PDA device. The 24/7 fleet management system incorporates the company’s FleetLog GPS offline/online vehicle tracking system and new 802.11g/WiFi-enabled RF Fuel wireless monitoring system designed to prevent unauthorized and inappropriate use of fuel at the company fuel pump.

“SCI is the only company that has combined both fuel management and fleet management on a single Web application to enable managers and executives to easily monitor and control fuel usage and fleet activity from virtually anywhere,” said Tal Ezra, president of SCI Distribution.

In addition to providing 24/7 access to every phase of fleet activity, Ezra said SCI’s WebFleetLog fleet and fuel management system can also proactively notify managers when driver performance, engine performance, and vehicle fuel efficiency fall away from one or more predetermined parameters.

“As diesel prices soar, fleet vehicle monitoring and fuel control become even more important,” said Ezra. “Our WebFleetLog system not only stops fuel fraud and waste at the pump, but alerts managers to inefficient fuel consumption in their fleet vehicles across town or across country.”

SCI introduced wireless fuel control and wireless pump-to-office data reporting to the fleet management industry in 2002 with the implementation of radio frequency (RF) control technology in its pump control units. Ezra says his company has again set a new industry standard with the implementation of 802.11g/WiFi connectivity in its new RF Fuel pump monitoring and reporting system.

“Not only does the new wireless RF Fuel control system offer customers a very quick and economical alternative for retrofitting existing pumps, the 802.11g standard allows each pump control unit to be programmed and maintained online from SCI’s service center,” says Ezra. “In most cases system maintenance and repairs can be done by remote online access without sending a technician to the site, saving time and money.”

Ezra said that fleet managers typically see a minimum 5 percent reduction in fuel expenditures immediately after installation of the RF Fuel system. SCI’s new 802.11g/WiFi-enabled RF Fuel wireless fuel management system can be easily added to all popular GPS fleet management/tracking systems. Fleet and fuel data gathered and logged by SCI’s fuel and fleet management systems are importable/exportable in all popular spread sheet formats.
