Vigillo — provider of a Web-based risk management platform for the delivery of policies, forms, training, assessments and management reports to the trucking industry — announced Wednesday, April 16, at the 2008 DRI Trucking Law Seminar that it has collaborated with Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP to provide Vigillo’s trucking industry customers with certain regulatory policies and forms and up-to-date information about legal developments in the trucking industry.

“The professional team of lawyers at Benesch constantly have their eyes on the legal and regulatory landscape in this industry,” says Steven G. Bryan, chief executive officer of Vigillo. “By constantly monitoring industry developments and providing up-to-date legal information, our customers will be alerted to important changes and developments that could impact their fleet operations and their exposure to risk.”

The Vigillo Web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform is designed to organize and monitor the policies, forms, training, assessments and reports needed to prepare for and respond to the many risks associated with motor carrier operations. Vigillo says the platform enables managers to better prepare and respond to the many high-risk situations encountered when operating truck fleets. Potential benefits of adopting the Web-based, easy-to-use system include addressing problems before they become emergencies, lowering costs through improved time management, increased employee productivity, reducing turnover and improving insurance risk profiles.

Benesch’s Transportation and Logistics Practice Group regularly advises clients about how to avoid unnecessary risks that constitute obstacles to growth, including regulatory requirements, as well as the development of new operating practices and compliance programs. Benesch’s legal services include drafting policies for customers about accident responses, employee compliance issues, problems and steps to managing risk, and producing general information and other resource materials about pertinent and timely issues. Benesch also has a Labor and Employment Practice Group with lawyers who have represented transportation-related clients in dealing with OSHA, EEOC, independent contractor, wage and workers’ compensation issues, and preventing claims.
