I-5 weekend work in Washington delayed again

The Washington State Department of Transportation announced that its first scheduled weekend closure of Interstate 5 from Samish Way to Sunset Drive in Bellingham has been delayed until April 25-28 thanks to unseasonably cold weather.

WSDOT says it has hoped that warmer weather would have arrived by now so it could start pouring concrete on sections of I-5. Concrete doesn’t set up well if temperatures are too cold, according to WSDOT.

Travelers can stay up to date on planned lane closures by checking out WSDOT’s construction updates page.
