John Parr recently assumed duties as vice president of international business development for Hendrickson. In this new role, Parr will be responsible for key aspects of Hendrickson’s business strategy and activity in the global marketplace.

Parr — who will report to Gary Gerstenslager, president and chief executive officer of Itasca, Ill.-based Hendrickson — will be based out of the United Kingdom but will spend considerable time in the United States working with the leadership team. He will collaborate closely with Baine Adams, vice president of international sales and marketing, and with other members of Hendrickson’s executive team as he identifies opportunities for business growth, ventures and relationships.

Parr comes to Hendrickson from Knorr-Bremse, Munich, Germany, the world’s largest supplier of truck and rail braking systems. He most recently served as the Asia Pacific Truck chief operating officer based in Hong Kong with management responsibilities for six Asian countries, and formerly held the post of managing director of Knorr-Bremse U.K. Truck Business. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility with Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems; IVECO, the Fiat Group’s global truck division; and Eaton Truck Components in Europe.
