E. Bruce Weiss, recently executive vice president of Instructional Technologies Inc., has resigned from the company in order to pursue independent consulting offers within the commercial trucking industry. Weiss will take on strategic, marketing and communications projects for fleets and service providers from his office in Boulder, Colo.

Along with founder and chief executive officer Jim Voorhees, Weiss helped develop, market and expand the Tread-1 and Pro-Tread computer-based truck driver training programs. Beginning in early 2000, Weiss and Voorhees raised venture capital to launch ITI into the trucking market. Most recently, Weiss launched and oversaw the development of Pro-Tread In-Cab, forming partnerships with providers of in-cab communications to deliver training directly into drivers’ cabs.

Weiss remains a major shareholder of ITI and has been contracted to work on special projects for the Vancouver, Wash.-based company.
