Cadec Global customer Morning Star says it has implemented Cadec’s advanced fleet management software in an effort to eliminate paperwork from its delivery process, improve safety, reduce costs and ease Department of Transportation audits.

Morning Star is the nation’s leading tomato processor, accounting for more than 25 percent of California’s tomato processing. The company supplies 40 percent of the U.S. tomato paste and diced tomato ingredient markets, with sales of about $350 million.

Morning Star says it was driven to explore fleet management software by two main factors: a need to improve driver productivity through reducing paperwork, and a desire for increased safety. They say they ultimately selected Cadec based on its ability to provide portable units for trucks, the ease with which its software could be integrated with Morning Star’s existing technology infrastructure, and the knowledge and experience of the Manchester, N.H.-based Cadec team.

“Cadec was a one-stop shop that had everything we wanted,” says Mike Reuter, transportation and logistics manager for Northern California at Morning Star. “Seeing demonstrations of the various packages really brought that home for us.”
