Patriot Transportation Holding announced that Ray M. Van Landingham, vice president and chief financial officer since 2000, is retiring effective June 16. Patriot’s board of directors has named John D. Milton Jr. to succeed the 65-year-old Van Landingham effective June 16.

“On behalf of our board of directors, I want to thank Ray Van Landingham for his leadership and outstanding contribution,” says John D. Baker II, president and chief executive officer of the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company. “Ray joined Patriot as we were bringing our accounting and administration in house, and he guided us through the implementation of our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. His experience and steady hand were invaluable and will be missed.”

Milton, 62, served as executive vice president and CFO of Florida Rock Industries, a construction materials company, from January 2001 until the merger of Florida Rock with Vulcan Materials Co.
