Continental North America announced that Paul Williams, vice president of purchasing and supply chain for Continental Automotive Americas, has been named executive vice president of commercial vehicle tires for the Americas.

“Paul has served as a valuable member of the executive leadership team with Continental in Charlotte for more than four years,” says Matthias Schoenberg, chief executive officer of Charlotte, N.C.-based Continental Tire North America. “During his time here, Paul has helped to advance our CVT operations by significantly improving the supply chain operations. In addition, he steered the successful restructuring of the purchasing organization following our integration with Siemens VDO. There is no doubt that he will continue to have many more successes in his new role.”

Williams, who has more than two decades of experience in the automotive industry, will replace Tom Roydhouse as executive vice president of CVT, effective immediately. “Tom is departing after contributing more than 38 years of outstanding service to General Tire and Continental,” Schoenberg says. “He has led the CVT team with distinction and played a key role in our growth and expansion into new markets across North and South America. We are grateful for his service and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

As executive vice president of CVT, Williams will be responsible for overseeing the entire CVT division in the Americas Region as well as sales and marketing of all CVT products, and for continuing to grow and expand the division across the Americas. Before serving as vice president of purchasing and supply chain, he served as CTNA director of purchasing. Prior to his arrival in the United States, he acted as supply chain and purchasing manager for ContiTech in the United Kingdom and also worked at Nissan Manufacturing UK Ltd within purchasing and operations.
