Mack’s new Pinnacle Rawhide Edition builds on its Pinnacle Axle Forward model with an updated exterior and a new level of interior comfort. The truck is available in three cab configurations: 60-in. and 70-in. midrise sleepers, plus day cab. Features include a “Texas-style” chrome bumper, stainless steel cab and sleeper skirts, forward-mounted dual 7-in. bullhorn exhaust stacks, a 13-in. stainless steel exterior sun visor and four chrome air horns. The interior has button tuck Ultraleather and two-tone embroidered seats. The brushed nickel dash features Mack’s Co-Pilot driver display; the leather-grip steering wheel includes chromed spokes.
The Revolution Combo composite trailer weighs only 9,000 pounds yet features an 80,000-lb. distributed frame capacity. Features include 23-in. steel main beams combined with an extruded aluminum floor for maximum strength and support at a lower overall weight. Friction-stir welding, proven technology borrowed from the aerospace industry, adds to the strength of the floor while reducing weight to give you bigger payloads and more miles per gallon, the company says.
Clutch replacement kits
Combining key clutch and transmission components into one package, Eaton Fuller clutch replacement kits are available for virtually all North American heavy-duty makes and models. Kits are available for the RT Series and FR Series for both of Eaton’s Easy-Pedal and Soloclutch designs. All kit parts are of original-equipment quality and contain the replacement clutch, four clutch release shaft bushings, front bearing cover gasket, outer and inner input shaft snap rings, shift lever tower gasket, front bearing cover, clutch housing gasket, input shaft bearing, pilot bearing, input shaft assembly, clutch brake and clutch release fork.
Designed for Class 8 trucks, the new 500-lb. PowerCube APU has an output of 24,000 btu for cooling and 30,000 btu for heating, plus fewer moving parts and no external condenser unit. Using roughly 0.4 gallon of fuel per hour, it has been lab tested to meet SAE J-1503 automotive standards. It’s offered with 2-cylinder engines from Kubota or Caterpillar.
An electronic controller for trucks, the BatteryBrain is available for 12-volt and 24-volt systems and will withstand starter-battery current draws of up to 2,000 amps. It also provides a warning when batteries are nearing the end of their lives, so that replacement can be scheduled. If the BatteryBrain detects that the battery is losing the required charge needed to start the engine, the device automatically disconnects it to preserve power.

Software for logs, inspection
The Driver’s Daily Log and Vehicle Inspection software for the pocket PC does not require a separate computer to print your log sheets or vehicle inspection checklists. The program is available on 2GB Micro and Mini SD Cards and as a download to an existing memory card. A 2GB memory card will hold 18 months of typical logs and vehicle inspection checklists. Windows Mobile 5.0 or later is required for compatibility with a pocket PC, and printers must be SD/MMC memory card-enabled or Bluetooth-compatible.
TrailerTail improves fuel economy
An aerodynamic add-on for the rear of trailers that features a collapsible, folding design, TrailerTail can increase fuel efficiency by as much 5 percent in long-haul applications. The extension reduces rear drag for improved fuel efficiency, the company says, depending on the amount of miles driven and the application. Once installed, the trailer doors can be opened in about six seconds and closed in about eight seconds. The device weighs approximately 250 pounds.
This new fully sealed ignition switch of durable plastic is available in a variety of configurations, including anti-restart. The switch has an integral Deutsch connector and contacts sealed to IP-67. Available with or without a key boot, the switches are rated 10A at 120-volt DC and 5A at 24-volt DC and are tested to SAE J259 for ignition switches.
The CoPilot Truck 11 GPS navigation and trip-planning software runs on Windows-based laptop computers. The software is completely redesigned with step-by-step address entry and 2-D and 3-D map views and truck-specific, spoken directions. PCMiler routing options include practical, shortest, hazmat, wide load and toll avoidance. An easy-to-read screen minimizes distractions. The software includes data for truck stops, weigh stations, rest areas and 6 million points of interest.
The 4-in-1 SafetyStick Emergency Tool & Flashlight includes a flashing red LED strobe, a cutter sharp enough to slice through any seat belt in seconds, a steel-pointed tip that can shatter any window and a magnetic bottom that allows attachment to the side of the truck.
The new i-Box trailer nosebox offers improved serviceability and reduced wiring complexity. The product is 35 percent larger than conventional styles and features other time- and money-saving improvements. Now available for retrofit or OEM installation, the product handles wiring for anti-lock brakes, trailer tracking, on-board weigh systems and lighting, the company says. Additional features include a hinged lid and weather-proof design, and circuit breakers that can be changed in seconds
