Air-Weigh, a manufacturer of on-board scale technology, announced today the availability of scales designed for refuse vehicles built with air or walking beam drive suspensions. The refuse vehicle scales are available in Air-Weigh’s LoadMaxx and QuickLoad product lines. Air-Weigh digital on-board scales feature an in-dash display that shows GVW, net payload, steer axle and drive axle weights.

Air-Weigh scales for refuse vehicles can be installed on any refuse truck with an air drive suspension, Hendrickson Haulmaxx, or Hendrickson HN462 drive suspension. The new scales incorporate Air-Weigh’s deflection sensor technology, which allows the accurate weight measurement on steer and drive axles with mechanical suspensions.

Refuse vehicle scales from Air-Weigh provide critical axle and GVW weight information in a more cost-effective package than existing load cell systems. Air-Weigh scales offer programmable alarms to indicate warning and overweight conditions, multiple digital data interfaces capable of transmitting weight information to on-board computers, PIN-protected dual point calibration, and are easy to install, calibrate, and maintain.

Air-Weigh scales for refuse vehicle applications are currently in stock and available for sale. Air-Weigh’s CEO Martin Ambros says about the refuse scales, “We are pleased to be able to offer all of the features and advantages of Air-Weigh scales to refuse applications and believe that our new refuse vehicle scales will greatly benefit fleets in the waste industry.”
