Maxi-Seal Harness Systems Inc., a member of the Peterson corporate family, has announced that Tim Barnett has joined the Grandview, Mo.-based company as general manager. The move is designed to strengthen Maxi-Seal’s leadership team in expanding the company’s share of the custom wiring harness market, while continuing to provide sealed harness systems for Peterson Manufacturing’s vehicle lighting solutions.

Barnett will direct all Maxi-Seal operations, with department heads from engineering, production, quality assurance and sales reporting to him. He comes to Maxi-Seal from his role as vice president and general manager at J&J Logistics, a freight transportation services company in Overland Park, Kan., where he work in sales, sales management, product management and operations management.

“Tim brings a wealth of talent and experience to Maxi-Seal,” says Don Armacost Jr., Peterson president and chief executive officer. “With his leadership, we’re confident of continued growth in this important segment of our business.”

In a related move, Maxi-Seal’s Terry Forsythe has accepted the position of sales engineer reporting to Barnett. In this role, Forsythe initially will manage customer relationships in the areas of field service and technical support. “Terry is well respected industrywide for his product knowledge,” Armacost says. “He will be key in helping us meet customer expectations with respect to Maxi-Seal products and services.”
