Roanoke Times renews transportation contract with Ryder

Ryder System announced Thursday, June 5, that The Roanoke (Va.) Times, a Landmark Communications newspaper with a daily circulation of more than 100,000, has renewed a five-year Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) transportation contract. Under the DCC contract, Ryder will manage delivery of The Roanoke Times from its printing plant to its circulation distribution centers, providing a turnkey package that includes customized vehicles, drivers, fleet management, dock operations management and preventive and programmed maintenance for the equipment.

Ryder’s DCC service is a customized suite of transportation management services for the delivery of a customer’s products that optimizes its fleet operations and allows its management to be more focused on core business issues. Ryder has business relationships with 75 newspapers nationally, including The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, The Miami Herald and The Dallas Morning News.
