The Department of Transportation on Tuesday, June 10, issued an alert regarding another round of fraudulent letters sent to current DOT contractors and potential contractors purporting to be issued by DOT.

The fraudulent letters request that current or potential contractors submit banking account information in order to be eligible for participation in contract offerings, DOT says.

DOT says it does not require any confidential information to be submitted to verify registration and that all companies should verify personally that they are sending information to an authorized DOT official before submitting confidential company information.
