Network F.O.B. — an Eagan, Minn.-based freight brokerage company — announced Tuesday, June 17, that it has completed the acquisition of Gale Transportation Services Inc., based in Winchester, Va. Terms were not announced.
Network F.O.B. is a coast-to-coast network of independent shipping agents providing comprehensive freight shipping services to business customers throughout the United States. The company provides management information systems, accounting, claims processing, insurance, marketing and training for 47 affiliated freight brokerage businesses.
Gale Transportation Services is the second freight brokerage company to become part of the Network F.O.B. national system within the past year through acquisition, says Timothy Taylor, Network F.O.B. president. The acquisition is part of a long-range plan to expand Network F.O.B. operations on a national basis, Taylor says.
Gale Transportation Services, a family-owned business, was founded in 1980 by Arnold M. Gale, the company’s president. Gale will become Network F.O.B.’s director of transportation, Taylor says.
