A. Duie Pyle announced that it recently received PPG Industries’ Excellent Supplier Award for superior accomplishments in 2007. The West Chester, Pa.-based carrier says it is the only distribution resource provider to receive the prestigious award from PPG three times.
Kathleen McGuire, PPG vice president of corporate purchasing and distribution, presented the trophy made of PPG glass to A. Duie Pyle President Steve O’Kane at a recent ceremony in Pittsburgh. “As one of our key suppliers for transportation services, A. Duie Pyle was an outstanding performer,” McGuire says. “Their quality, service, delivery, documentation and innovation have been exceptional.”
The transportation company says it is one of only eight suppliers honored by the $11.2 billion global manufacturer of paints, coatings, chemicals, optical products, specialty materials, glass and fiberglass. A. Duie Pyle provides transportation services to PPG’s architectural, refinish, automotive OEM and industrial coatings businesses, as well as to its flat glass and performance glazings unit in the United States.
PPG chooses the recipients of its supplier awards based on ratings and evaluations measuring quality, delivery, documentation, innovation, responsiveness and commercial value. “We are committed to our strong relationship with PPG and are pleased to know that PPG views us as a valued strategic partner in their long-term success and growth,” O’Kane says.
