MCT Transportation, a full truckload carrier of general commodities for products requiring refrigerated services and dry goods, recently expanded operations to include a new West Coast produce division.
“This is an exciting development for us,” says Chris Swain, West Coast sales director for Sioux Falls, S.D.-based MCT. “Our employees entered into this with knowledge of the market, and that has contributed to our success. To date, we’re moving close to 100 loads each week from the West Coast and still expanding. The MCT produce division has been well-received by our clients.”
With the new division, MCT has incorporated new lanes of service, moving produce outbound of California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, South Texas, Florida and Georgia. The company plans to hire more owner-operators to meet client needs. “More and more customers are requesting teams on the West Coast, so we are working to fill that demand,” Swain says.
