The Montana Department of Transportation is restricting truck traffic in the U.S. 191 Gallatin Canyon construction zone to local deliveries only, according to the Colorado Motor Carriers Association.
All tractor-trailer combination through-traffic must detour from U.S. 191 between the junction with State Routes 84/85 at Four Corners south of Belgrade and the junction with U.S. 287 north of West Yellowstone.
The restrictions are in place, as there will be long delays in construction zones while blasting and road clearing occur. Trucking companies are urged to take a look at alternative routes and plan accordingly.
