Decker Truck Line Inc. recently announced that John Kilmer was selected as the April Driver of the Month for its flatbed division, and Jerry Birkey was selected for its reefer/van division. Kilmer, who has been driving with Decker for 17 years, lives in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where the company is based. Birkey, who has been with Decker for 13 years, lives in Manson, Iowa.
Kirby Goos was selected as the May Driver of the Month for Decker’s flatbed division, while Lynn Beckler was selected for the company’s reefer/van division. Goos joined Decker in August 2007, and Beckler, who also lives in Fort Dodge, has been with the company since 1985.
Warren Erxleben was selected as June Driver of the Month for Decker’s flatbed division, while
Jim Brown was selected for the company’s reefer/van division. Erxleben, who is nearing his three-year anniversary at Decker, lives in New Liberty, Iowa. Brown, who started as a flatbed driver for Decker 17 years ago, switched to the reefer/van division about three years ago. Brown resides in Otho, Iowa.
Drivers and owner-operators are nominated monthly by their dispatcher. They are selected based on overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll, billing and customer service. All monthly honorees are eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the Year.
