The California Air Resources Board has scheduled workshops in late July and early August to discuss draft regulations proposing to require that within about five years, motor carriers operating tractors and 53-foot long-haul box-type trailers use equipment that meets the Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program certification standards.

During the workshops, staff will discuss the regulation and its estimated costs and benefits, answer questions and receive industry comments.

The four-hour workshops are scheduled for 1 p.m. July 28 in Sacramento; 9 a.m. July 29 in San Diego; and 1 p.m. Aug. 5 in El Monte. For a copy of the workshop notice, click here.
