Quality Distribution Inc. announced the appointment of Stephen Attwood as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Attwood most recently was vice president and corporate controller of Swift Transportation from 2002-2007. While at Swift, he strengthened the finance organization and drove operational improvements, which enhanced cash flow and operating margins. Additionally, Attwood also has held senior management positions with Dell Computer and AlliedSignal (now Honeywell) in the past.

Enzor, president and chief executive officer of Tampa, Fla.-based Quality Distribution. “I’ve worked with Steve for many years, and one of his greatest strengths is his ability to rapidly lead major business improvement initiatives and drive them to closure. His ability to manage large, complex projects with relentless focus will make him a key asset in the execution of our Vital Few initiatives. He has a strong interest in operations, and he will help us further improve and simplify our business operating model.”
Attwood succeeds Timothy Page, who joined QDI in 2004. Page will work in a transitional role and will depart the company later this year. “I want to thank Tim for his many contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Enzor says.
