Utah DOT warns truckers of road closures

In an effort to help truckers avoid delays and closures while traveling through the state, the Utah Department of Transportation is asking trucking companies and drivers to plan ahead of their departure by visiting iTruck.Utah.Gov, an interactive website with road construction information specific to the industry.

With a number of significant projects anticipated in August, UDOT says iTruck.Utah.Gov will give truckers advanced notice of 30 highlighted sites, including closure dates for the following roads:

Interstate 80 Parley’s Canyon (bridge replacement)

  • Full westbound closure Aug. 9, 4 p.m. to Aug. 10, 4 p.m.
  • Turnaround point at Parley’s Summit (Exit 140)
  • Detour route is I-84 through Weber Canyon; U.S. 189 through Provo Canyon is an alternative; plan an additional hour for travel
  • Full eastbound closure Aug. 16, 7 p.m. to Aug. 17, 7 p.m.
  • Turnaround point at Ranch Exit (Exit 132)
  • Detour route is I-84 through Weber Canyon; U.S. 189 through Provo Canyon is an alternative; plan an additional hour for travel
  • I-215 E. at 3300 S. (full bridge replacement)

  • Full freeway closure beginning Aug. 22, midnight to Aug. 25, 6 a.m.
  • U.S. 6 near Tucker Rest Area

  • Complete road closure beginning Tuesday, Aug. 5, 10 p.m. to Wednesday, Aug. 6, 6 a.m.
  • Recommended alternate route is I-70
