Forward Air Corp. on Monday, Sept. 8, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Forward Air Solutions Inc., successfully completed its acquisition of certain assets of Service Express Inc. Terms were not announced.
Forward Air Solutions Inc., based in Greeneville, Tenn., is a provider of pool distribution services. Including the acquisition of Service Express, the company’s pool distribution network consists of 20 terminals within the mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest and Southwestern United States.
Founded in 1996, Service Express is a privately held provider of pool distribution and related services to seven retail markets in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The company, headquartered in Spartanburg, S.C., says it generated about $39 million in revenue during the year ended Dec. 31, 2007.
