Logistics management provider NLM announced that it recently renewed an agreement with Allison Transmission, which designs, manufactures and sells commercial-duty automatic transmissions, hybrid propulsion systems and related parts and services for on-highway trucks and buses.

NLM says it will remain a provider for Allison Transmission’s critical shipments and dynamic shipment procurement tool, an effort through which NLM secures capacity for noncritical shipments using its advanced Web-based bidding and auction environment.

“We are very excited to continue our relationship with Allison Transmission and to continue to lend our logistics expertise to help drive efficiencies and cost savings within their business,” says Greg Humes, president of Detroit-based NLM. “Allison Transmission has been a tremendous business partner and is a long-time customer of NLM.”

NLM says its 24/7 service approach combines industry-leading technology with the expertise and personalized attention of NLM logistics specialists to ensure the right transportation solution for every situation. NLM has coordinated more than three million shipments and manages more than $500 million in transportation spend on behalf of its customers.

“NLM’s heritage is founded in serving the automotive industry and developing innovative solutions to meet its complex logistics challenges,” says Scott Taylor, chief executive officer of NLM. “Allison Transmission is a significant part of that legacy and shares common values with NLM in its pursuit of innovation, quality and world-class excellence.”
