ATA posts disaster waivers

Just as it did three years ago with Hurricane Katrina and her close relatives, the American Trucking Associations is posting on its website the state and federal emergency declarations and waivers that concern this year’s continuing series of fall hurricanes.

These notices provide instructions for motor carriers entering the declared disaster areas and information on the waivers of ordinary requirements to which such travel would otherwise be subject.

Among these are waivers pertaining to International Registration Plan vehicle registration and International Fuel Tax Agreement fuel use tax reporting, as well as expected postponements of tax filing deadlines at the state and federal level.
