Intermec announces new mobile computer

Intermec announced the CK3 mobile computer, a durable handheld package that delivers highly adaptable data and image capture capabilities, along with secure wireless communications.

The company says the CK3 was designed specifically for warehouse operations and incorporates many capabilities never available before in one device, including:

  • 1D and 2D barcode scanning, both up close and far away, in any orientation and under varied lighting conditions;
  • 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Radio with Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX) certification;
  • VoIP communications supported;
  • Speech recognition capable;
  • Bluetooth radio communications;
  • Handheld or “gun” deployment formats;
  • RFID reader option; and
  • Support for a line of compatible Intermec mobile printers.
  • The CK3, which begins shipping in late October, is the second Intermec rugged mobile computer to operate on Windows Mobile 6.1. Intermec says the CK3 has a complete line of accessories, including a variety of docking stations, attachable scan handle and a snap-on IP30 handheld RFID reader.
