Stemco debuts in-cab tire pressure indicator, sensor for single wides

Stemco says its AirBat RF DAS (Driver Alert System) is an in-cab indicator designed to alert the driver to tires that are underinflated. AirBat RF DAS works in conjunction with AirBat tire pressure monitoring sensors and informs the driver when tractor and trailer tires are inflated improperly, according to the company.

Instantly and wirelessly, the AirBat sensors send readings to the DAS unit mounted in the cab, Stemco says; the driver is alerted with a flashing light as soon as a tire is low on air. The DAS unit incorporates proprietary technology designed to automatically bind any tractor/trailer combination that is equipped with the AirBat RF sensors for drop-and-hook situations.

The company also has designed an AirBat tire pressure monitoring sensor for single wide tire applications. Stemco says the sensors, which are mounted on the wheel end, work in concert with all of the existing Bat RF family of products, the HandBat handheld reader, the DAS, the gate reader, the satellite interface module and WebBat, an Internet-based fleet management software.
