Donaldson Co. says its Drop Down Tube Extensions, made for Donaldson SRG and SSG air cleaners and Donaldson Power PSD air cleaners, can be used as a replacement to existing dust cup assemblies. The drop-down tube extension is designed to focus the dust down from the hopper onto the vacuator value, improving the effects of gravity and dust expulsion. The rubber connections incorporate into the air cleaner dust expulsion features to help promote self-cleaning under normal operating conditions.
The clear drop tube helps reduce inspection time by eliminating the need for ladders or elevated platforms for daily inspectors, according to the company; it also allows operators to perform walkaround inspections and keeps operators and maintenance personnel away from the nuisance dust normally encountered during air cleaner servicing operations. Donaldson says the drop-down tube extensions also improve vehicle uptime by minimizing pre- and post-shift air cleaner inspections, thus facilitating increased air cleaner service internals.
