Navman Wireless North America, a provider of vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, announced the addition of real-time event reporting to its OnlineAVL2 fleet management software. OnlineAVL2 event alerts are intended to provide managers instant notification of costly and potentially dangerous situations, giving them the ability to proactively address situations, improve business and productivity, minimize or avoid potential problems, and reduce or eliminate extra costs.

Navman Wireless says its real-time alerting solution includes an idle alert to address efficient fuel use; stationary alert to signal vehicle inefficiency and provide data to increase productivity; and unauthorized use notification for vehicles operating during off-hours. Eliminating the need to wait for historical reports, fleet managers receive critical information on the fly, increasing efficiency, improving safety and significantly enhancing overall asset management, according to the company.

“Navman Wireless is committed to making fleet management more effective by providing the industry’s most complete and customizable solution,” says Renaat Ver Eecke, vice president of Glenview, Ill.-based Navman Wireless North America. “Our new OnlineAVL2 real-time alerting features allow managers to actively address key issues that directly result in increased employee efficiency and productivity, improved operations and cost reduction.”

The Navman Wireless OnlineAVL2 real-time alerts feature currently is available in new product purchases and is accessible immediately to current Navman Wireless customers at no charge as a free upgrade request or during the next scheduled automatic software update. Other OnlineAVL2 features include real-time vehicle position, integrated maintenance modules, state mileage reporting, automated e-mail reporting and high-resolution satellite imagery.
