Con-way Truckload recently named Robert Darden as director of sales, responsible for the Joplin, Mo.-based company’s Southern region, including Texas, Louisiana and Florida. Darden, who was promoted from regional sales manager, now manages a team of five regional sales professionals and oversees the day-to-day sales functions of the company, ranging from customer relationships to service fulfillment.
Darden joined the company in 2000 and has been working in the trucking industry for more than 22 years. Prior to joining Con-way Truckload, he worked in operations and sales for Roadway Express for nearly 10 years. Darden started in trucking as a driver for Pepsi-Cola Co., where he worked for three years.
