Scoggins named president of NationaLease

Gene Scoggins, transportation industry veteran and an executive with NationaLease during the past 10 years, has been named president of the North American full-service truck leasing organization. Scoggins most recently served as the company’s vice president of sales.

During his tenure with NationaLease, Scoggins has initiated many programs to establish and grow the national accounts program an average of 20 percent per year since he started. “We looked both internally and externally for the very best candidate for the job, and we’re confident we have chosen the best person,” says Doug Clark, chief executive officer.

As president of NationaLease, Scoggins will focus on developing new programs and initiatives that improve return on investment for NationaLease members, such as competitive capital equipment purchasing, increasing the national accounts customer base, and improving member satisfaction.

Scoggins began his career in the transportation industry more than 30 years ago. Positions he has held during his career include rental manager, account manager, district manager, national account executive and vice president of sales for NationaLease, Gelco and PacLease. Scoggins will operate at NationaLease headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

NationaLease has more than 600 services locations throughout the United States and Canada and combined customer fleet of 125,000 tractors, trucks and trailers. The company provides services for private fleets and transportation service providers.
