The Special Libraries Association is accepting applications for the 2009 J.J. Keller Innovations in Technology Award, to be presented at the SLA Annual Conference next June in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes information professionals for innovative use and application of technology in a special library setting.

“We’re proud to join SLA in recognizing special librarians who take the initiative to apply technology in new and interesting ways, especially because the Innovations in Technology Award acknowledges those individuals whose accomplishments in their unique environments align with J. J. Keller’s objectives for delivering advanced tools and content to information professionals,” says Webb Shaw, director of editorial resources at Neenah, Wis.-based J.J. Keller.

The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a complementary one-year subscription to one of J.J. Keller’s online subscription services: FleetMentor, an online service providing fleet managers with more than 60 interactive tools and resources to manage fleet personnel, operations and safety; KellerOnline, an online service for safety professionals to help manage their safety programs; or Prospera, an online people management tool that advises human resources professionals on how to engage and develop employees.
