After 35 years of leading Whiting Systems — one of the largest manufacturers of truck washing equipment, chemicals and services — Donel “Buddy” Whiting promoted his son, Russell Whiting, to president effective Jan. 2.

“2008 was the best year in Whiting Systems’ history,” says “Buddy” Whiting, who will become chief executive officer of the Alexander, Ark.-based company. “We delivered more units in the last quarter of the year than ever before. This was a team effort, but it was led by Russ Whiting. I realize it is time to bring in new energy, ideas and enthusiasm to help us take the next steps forward.”

Russ Whiting credits his mother and father for building “a great company. The associates of Whiting Systems have been a big part of this success, and you are our family.” He says his goal is for Whiting Systems to be the top company in its market. “There is no doubt that we can help our customers earn a greater profit by improving their wash costs, wash times and wash quality,” he says. “We have the best equipment, people and program in the nation.”
