Kenworth Truck Co. announced that it will extend a rebate program with Landstar System through 2009. The program offers a $1,000 rebate on qualifying purchases of new Kenworth sleeper trucks to owner-operators who provide Jacksonville, Fla.-based Landstar with transportation capacity under exclusive lease arrangements.

Kenworth Class 8 trucks eligible include the T660, T800 and W900 models with 72-inch AeroCab or 86-inch Studio AeroCab sleeper; and the T2000 model with 75-inch AeroDyne sleeper. Under the program, purchasers negotiate their best deal at the Kenworth dealer of their choice and then send copies of the paperwork to Landstar. Upon confirmation of eligibility by Landstar, Kenworth will send the $1,000 rebate directly to the purchaser. The purchase must be made in 2009.

“Kenworth is pleased to extend this $1,000 rebate program through 2009 in cooperation with Landstar,” says Gary Moore, assistant general manager of marketing and sales for the Kirkland, Wash.-based truck maker.
