Donaldson Co., a manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, recently recognized a 15-year milestone for the introduction of its Ultra-Web nanofiber filtration technology into its engine products. Launched in the engine aftermarket in December 1993, Ultra-Web technology revolutionized air filtration for on- and off-road vehicles and equipment by providing high-efficiency filtration and extended filter life while reducing operator maintenance costs, the company says.

According to Donaldson, Ultra-Web technology causes submicron particles to load on the media surface rather than disperse throughout the depth of the filter; the smaller, interfiber spaces of Ultra-Web provide higher efficiency and capture more contaminants.

“Donaldson has a long history of developing state-of-the-art filtration technology,” says Bill Cook, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Minneapolis-based company. “Our Ultra-Web filtration technology – first introduced 26 years ago for our industrial filtration markets – is an example of our commitment to developing filtration products that satisfy our customers’ needs. Our combination of Ultra-Web with other Donaldson technologies allows us to provide industry-leading, highly effective filtration solutions that lower operating costs for our customers.”
