FMCSA: Werner no longer needs Paperless Log System exemption

Werner Enterprises no longer needs an exemption in order to use the Werner Paperless Log System as an automatic onboard recording device for drivers’ records of duty status, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has ruled.

Due to changes in Werner’s technology, the system now uses engine control module data – not GPS data – to record engine use, road speed and miles driven.
