Vigillo — provider of a Web-based risk management platform for the delivery of policies, forms, training, assessments and management reports to the trucking industry — announced it has entered into a reseller agreement with Routeware, the waste industry’s leader in capturing field data and integrating it with legacy information systems. The partnership will introduce the Vigillo Web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) risk management system and Scorecard Suite of reports to Routeware’s waste management fleet customers.

“Routeware customers have specific risk management challenges associated with operating trucks for waste management operations,” says Drew Anderson, director of sales for Portland, Ore.-based Vigillo. “The Vigillo platform will enable them to better prepare and respond to the many high-risk situations they encounter and address problems. By tapping into the onboard data available on the Routeware platform, we can capture a myriad of information about drivers and trucks, customize the indicators so they are specific to a waste hauler’s needs, and provide a scorecard based on those unique parameters in an easy-to-use and consistent tool.”

Vigillo says its system reduces time-consuming tasks involved in preparing compliance documentation and organizes policies, procedures, training and workflow; for its clients, the company pinpoints areas of noncompliance and identifies solutions using its Scorecard Suite of reports. The Scorecard includes a risk score for drivers based on factors such as accidents, customer service, rules violations, training and incidents; also included are details on incidents and training activity, and data from onboard systems on fuel consumption, speed and hard-braking activity for individual drivers, groups of drivers, managers and locations.

“Vigillo addresses the risk associated with waste management operations very effectively,” says Steven Kaufman, founder and senior vice president of Routeware. “Through this agreement, driver activity collected by our onboard computer will feed information to Routeware BackOffice, our analytic software, and then directly to Vigillo. That data could include driver hours and activity, vehicle location and maintenance needs. For waste management companies, driver compliance issues have a potentially large impact on operational safety. For existing and new customers, the Vigillo solution is a simple and effective way to evaluate risk, inefficiencies and compliance issues, and address any problems that arise.”
