ArvinMeritor Inc. announced Tuesday, Feb. 17, that it has appointed Christopher Kete as vice president and general manager of its Specialty Products business unit, which provides the military/defense, off-highway, bus/coach and fire/emergency markets with advanced drivetrain technology. Kete will drive ArvinMeritor’s growth plans with a strong focus on product development and expansion into new market and customer segments.
“Chris’ leadership skills and extensive experience in the commercial vehicle and off-highway business uniquely qualify him to lead this strategic segment of our company,” says Carsten Reinhardt, senior vice president and president of Commercial Vehicle Systems for Troy, Mich.-based ArvinMeritor.
Kete has held positions of increasing responsibility within the motor vehicle industry, and also in the U.S. Navy. Most recently, Kete served as general manager of Cummins Komatsu Engine Co. Inc. Before joining Cummins, he was a lieutenant in the Navy’s submarine warfare division.
