TMW Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise transportation software, announced the release of TruckMate 2009. “We are excited to bring this latest version of our product to both new and existing customers,” says Randall Burrell, TruckMate senior vice president and general manager. “TruckMate 2009 includes a strong array of technical and functional enhancements that clearly represent a new business standard for our software.”
One of many new features is multicompany support, which is designed to allow a single database schema to handle more than one related company’s business transactions. Multicompany functionality is integrated in all standard TruckMate 2009 applications, where viewing cross-company data or restricting access to a single company by user now is configurable.
TMW says TruckMate 2009 also marks the transition of the product to a rolling-release delivery strategy, replacing the previous numbered versions, the most recent being TruckMate v. 8.0. Rolling releases are marked by more frequent, smaller product updates and offer smoother, less disruptive upgrade processes for TruckMate going forward, the company says, which will allow customers to take advantage of product enhancements and innovations more effectively.
General additions to the software, according to the company, include a new screen-designer to tailor the display and arrangement of fields on common screens to fit business workflows; a GL Reset option for customized distribution of the GL account and revenue splitting based on loaded leg mileage; integration with ALK PC Miler Tolls; integration with Carrier411 and with additional online freight board services for brokerage; and richer options for the Crystal Reports Access Manager.
To better support LTL businesses, TMW says the city dispatch function receives quick mapping capabilities to pickups and deliveries; piece-level tracking; short-form pickup entry and quick bill entry; daily less-than-truckload quotes for current terminal; and new LTL mileage rule setup to determine LTL driver pay rates automatically. The dock handheld application for a portable computing device also has added features.
Within the TMW product family, TruckMate 2009 now features improved interoperability with TMW’s DriverSeat Web portal, TMT Fleet Maintenance software, IDSC ExpertFuel and the D2Link mobile communications system, according to the company; where the integrated accounting capabilities of TruckMate are not a fit, improved integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP financial applications expands robust and enterprise-class accounting options.
