About one-third of the 175 independent businesses comprising NationaLease — one of the largest full-service truck leasing and maintenance organizations in North America — offer dedicated contract carriage for customers with complex transportation and distribution needs. In a recent survey of member companies, NationaLease statistically analyzed the specific services its members offer.

“With one-third of our members providing dedicated carriage capabilities, we’ve confirmed just how powerful a force NationaLease is in the dedicated marketplace,” says Gene Scoggins, president of the Cherry Hill, N.J.-based company. “Businesses with a national reach especially can call on the NationaLease organization to create solutions to their specific transportation needs. This could include joining members in connecting regions to provide the full coverage a national customer may need.”

Typically, dedicated contract carriage services cover a wide spectrum of services, including drivers, vehicles, maintenance, route planning, administrative support and management. Other services offered routinely are warehousing, dry and refrigerated transport, cross-docking services and one-way truck load service. The survey also shows that about one-third of the member companies have in excess of 500 customers and more than 6,000 drivers.
