Garmin enters truck GPS market

Garmin announced that it has entered the commercial truck GPS market with the introduction of a truck driver’s GPS, the Nuvi 465T. Garmin says attributes such as bridge heights, hazmat guidelines and road weight restrictions are preprogrammed into the unit, which also speaks the street names and directions out loud, so that there is no need to look away from the road while driving.

The Nuvi 465T, a Bluetooth GPS, also is designed to let a driver answer his Bluetooth-enabled cell phone with a touch of a screen on the GPS and have a “no hands needed” conversation.
