Con-way Freight announced that it recently was honored by the Idaho Trucking Association for its exemplary safety record and safe driving practices. Con-way Freight received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Highway Safety in the 1-3 million miles division. The awards were presented at ITA’s Annual Safety Awards Breakfast at The Grove Hotel in Boise.

“We are very proud of the companies who received certificates or plaques at this year’s Safety Awards Breakfast,” says Kathy Fowers, Idaho Trucking Association president. “These companies are doing what is necessary to train their drivers to be professionals and make safety their number-one concern.”

Winners are selected based on several factors, including miles driven in Idaho, types of driving, number of accidents and other safety indicators. The awards are sponsored by the Great West Casualty Co., one of the largest insurers of trucking companies in the United States.

“Our drivers are dedicated to safety, and we are pleased to see them receive recognition from the ITA for their driving records,” says John G. Labrie, president of Con-way Freight, based in Ann Arbor, Mich. “This award really highlights our driver sales representatives’ commitment to maintaining safe driving practices.”
